20th Annual Kidspace Pumpkin Festival

Sunday, October 18 & 19,
9:30 am to 5:00 pm, each day - The Circle of Friends proudly presents a family-friendly event that is fun for all ages and will take place directly in front of Kid space. Activities will include a petting zoo, pony rides, bouncers, carnival games, and seasonal crafts. Partake in a costume parade, enjoy face painting, and pick out pumpkins from our pumpkin patch. There will also be a book and costume sale, and tasty picnic treats. Festival admission is free, as well as live music and performances, and selected crafts. Tickets are available for puchase to enjoy food and other festival attractions. All proceeds benefit Kidspace Children's Museum.
Halloween Hunt

2:00 pm - Trick-or-Treat at Kidspace! Costumed characters throughout the Gardens will be waiting to hand out treats to your little ghosts and goblins! Enjoy Halloween themed activities, such as face painting, mask making, autumn leaf crowns, and the weird science of plasma balls. The gardens will be closed for the hunt until

Patina will have harvest-themed treats and beverages available for purchase, including warm apple cider and a California Toddy made with chai tea and bourbon.
THE RISE JACK O’LANTERN CARVING DEMO
Learn how to carve like an expert at this demonstration by a professional carver from RISE of the Jack O’Lanterns, the Halloween installation in the Rose Garden.
FALL WALK AND HARVESTING

Take a guided walk to see autumn in the Gardens. The walk will be followed by a visit to The Harvest Garden, where participants will have the rare opportunity to harvest and take home something special from Descanso.

Rise of The Jack O Laterns
The RISE of the Jack O'Lanterns, a unique all-ages night-time Halloween extravaganza, will light up Descanso Gardens
from Oct. 3 to Nov. 2. More than 5,000 hand-carved jack o’lanterns created by professional artists and sculptors are arranged in artful displays throughout a 1/3-mile scenic trail within the Rose Garden.
Tickets must be purchased in advance, and are available only at
www.therise.org. Ticket prices vary from $18-$28 depending on date and time. Discounts are available for kids 3-17 years of age and seniors 65 and older. Kids under 2 get in for free.The RISE is a rain or shine event. Tickets are not refundable.

Join us for the 22nd Annual Pumpkin Festival where you can choose from thousands of pumpkins right out of the patch ($5 ea). Eat and play games at the College of Agriculture student club booths or head over to our popular Insect Fair featuring nearly 500,000 live and preserved insects (runs
from 9am-5pm). We also have a corn maze, petting zoo, horse rides, entertainment, and lots of activities for kids! If you like pancakes, we've got them. Join us for our pancake
breakfast Saturday morning only
from 8am-11am. Bring your appetite! On Sunday, an earthquake simulator as well as FDNY Resue 5, a rolling memorial of the victims of 9/11, will be on display.
For the safety of all our guests, no animals are permitted at the Pumpkin Festival.
